Claudia Rogge’s photographic tapestries of flesh, fabric, and frenzy — which we first spotted on TrendsNow — are surreal human mosaics. The stillness and ordered formations of her M. C. Escher-esque manipulations are quietly eerie. Although nature exhibits a type of symmetry, Rogge’s works feels otherworldly. She toys with uniformity in a tension-filled way that speaks to psychological themes of identity. Rogge’s other photos center on similar notions, but create patterns and repetition with multiple individuals focusing on kaleidoscopic, writhing masses. Alison Lapper, British disabled artist who is probably most famous for having a nude marble sculpture of her when pregnant placed on a plinth in Trafalgar Square. (The statue was made by a non-disabled sculptor… I think it’s kind of ironic that it took that, rather than her own work, to make her famous.) This is a triptych of nude self-portraits.

Her face in that first photo, damn.

Being a real life modern Aphrodite statue. Badass.
